Last Sunday I talked about the spiritual discipline of prayer. Prayer is one of the most powerful tools in the believer’s arsenal. It’s also one of the least used. But even when we do discipline ourselves to pray, we often struggle through it and have little faith that what we are praying for will be heard. The Bible tells us to pray expectantly. James 1:6 says this - But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind .
Asking confidently and expectantly is a challenge at times, but that is exactly what the Lord wants us to do. And the reason is summed up nicely in this video clip from one of my all-time favorite movies “Facing the Giants”. Watch this and let your faith in prayer grow!
