I will admit that I’m not a big fisherman. For me it’s too much of a risk… there’s a big chance you may catch NOTHING….then what? I’ve invested all that time with no return. Maybe I’m just not patient enough. But if I KNEW I was going to catch fish, I’d be out there in a heartbeat. It’s not the fishing, it’s the NOT CATCHING that deters me. I have logged quite a few hours growing up with a trusty Zebco and I know it’s still the tackle of choice for lots of guys. But I was never very successful with it.
But maybe it’s time to become a Barbie fan. Check out this pic of a NC state record channel catfish…
Believe it or not, this 22 lb monster was caught on that cute little pink Barbie fishing rod. My biggest question is whether it belonged to him and he handed it to his granddaugter to avoid guilt. But if I knew I would catch 22 lb catfish with it, I’d go ahead and turn in my man card and get the Barbie goods. I don’t think I’m ready for the outfits yet though.

Ending uga_filter: I will admit that I’m not a big fisherman. For me it’s too much of a risk… there’s a big chance you may catch NOTHING….then what? I’ve invested all that time with no return. Maybe I’m just not patient enough. But if I KNEW I was going to catch fish, I’d be out there in a heartbeat. It’s not the fishing, it’s the NOT CATCHING that deters me. I have logged quite a few hours growing up with a trusty Zebco and I know it’s still the tackle of choice for lots of guys. But I was never very successful with it.
But maybe it’s time to become a Barbie fan. Check out this pic of a NC state record channel catfish…
Believe it or not, this 22 lb monster was caught on that cute little pink Barbie fishing rod. My biggest question is whether it belonged to him and he handed it to his granddaugter to avoid guilt. But if I knew I would catch 22 lb catfish with it, I’d go ahead and turn in my man card and get the Barbie goods. I don’t think I’m ready for the outfits yet though.
