How We Spent our 19th Anniversary

Yesterday marked 19 wonderful years of wedded bliss for Lesley and me.  Sept 9, 1989 we said “I do!” and I still do.  To say that the last 19 years have been adventurous would be an understatement.  We have lived on all three coasts (Atlantic, Gulf, Pacific) and in every region except the Pacific Northwest.  I have gone from the Army to sales to entreprenuership to ministry.  So how do you celebrate 19 years of that sort of life and marriage?

Lesley spent the day cleaning out the basement of the church….

I spent the day working on ministry stuff and having meetings….

We spent the evening at the church participating in worship rehearsal and then joining the work crew….

And it was GREAT!  This is who we are…it is what we love.  At our stage in life, we realize that only the investments we make in kingdom work will last forever.  And we feel blessed beyond words that God has brought us to this point.  So while we may have missed out on the special dinner and night out with each other, we don’t feel like we missed out on the most important thing.  ( Although I expect our 20th next year may look a bit different than yesterday)

Yesterday marked 19 wonderful years of wedded bliss for Lesley and me.  Sept 9, 1989 we said “I do!” and I still do.  To say that the last 19 years have been adventurous would be an understatement.  We have lived on all three coasts (Atlantic, Gulf, Pacific) and in every region except the Pacific Northwest.  I have gone from the Army to sales to entreprenuership to ministry.  So how do you celebrate 19 years of that sort of life and marriage?

Lesley spent the day cleaning out the basement of the church….

I spent the day working on ministry stuff and having meetings….

We spent the evening at the church participating in worship rehearsal and then joining the work crew….

And it was GREAT!  This is who we are…it is what we love.  At our stage in life, we realize that only the investments we make in kingdom work will last forever.  And we feel blessed beyond words that God has brought us to this point.  So while we may have missed out on the special dinner and night out with each other, we don’t feel like we missed out on the most important thing.  ( Although I expect our 20th next year may look a bit different than yesterday)
